Hi all!
I hope that you, wherever now, are doing well and happy as well. I would like to share about my experience at the AWS Summit Singapore two weeks ago, on May 7 2024 that I attended and spoke at.
First, honestly, I didn’t expect to have the opportunity to speak at the event, which was in the Developer session. I had been informed beforehand that there would be an AWS Summit Singapore and I thought that I should register because we definitely agreed that it would be a huge event, especially in Singapore.
Then, I remember one month before the event, the Call For Papers (CFP) program opened and I thought I should give it a try (regardless of being accepted or not). There were two opportunities, Live Project Demo and Flash Talk.
I wasn’t sure what topics the other speakers would cover and to increase my probability, I tried to apply two talks that covered Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and AWS Network Firewall.
Then, one of my talks got accepted! I was so happy and super excited!!

Perhaps, this one will be one of my big achievements this year. I had been preparing my slides for about two weeks and I had a rehearsal three days before the D-Day event. The AWS Team helped me a lot!
My session took place at 10:40 SGT and to be honest, I was quite nervous and worried about my English skills. I was worried that I would suddenly be speaking in Indonesian instead of English. If that happened, what about the material?

But that didn’t happen thankfully because I enjoyed it so much. The allotted time was about 20 minutes, I used it for about 30 minutes! Luckily for me, my session was before lunch, so there was no issue with that. Thanks to Mark!

I had the opportunity to join the panel discussion with the main topic of Generative AI. Since I am not yet an expert in Gen AI, I learned a lot from the other speakers, thanks to Mark, Kristine, Arvin, and Yube Wang. I remember the last question, if I had the chance to make Generative AI application for cats, what would I want to make?

Took a picture with other AWS Community folks.

It was such an exciting event. Thank you all and see you in other blog!!
